Yu Gi Oh 5Ds Tag Force 5

Okay folks another gift from the Konami and as usual the sceners and of course let us not forget the seeders from torrents and USENEXT. I got this from megaupload because the respected provider is so cool and so am I lols providing this for you (self claim) lol.

Anyways I never played this even the latter versions because I am not interested it's boring for me but I am sure there are so many kids, adults, teens who surely likes this card battle game.

You do not need to worry about fixing this because it is already patched for 5.50 GEN-D3, 5.03 GEN-C and 5.00 M33-6. Not even a ripkit or the ISO Tool 1.7 because I am assuming this was patched with that already so I am sure this should work for most of us. If not then you need to at least check your firmware if it is one of the above.

Some more (L)GPL strategy game love

Ok, quick update before too much dust gathers around here ;)

Just yesterday I stumbled upon this gem of a strategy game over at LGDB:

They call that simple bot???

Its name is Quantum, as some of you might have guessed it is a clone of Dyson/Eufloria. But the game is quite mesmerizing with the strange background noise and your armies of small space tree spores conquering new worlds. But try it yourself!

Now normally clones are not as good as the original, right? Not is this case: Full multiplayer (with master-server and lobby), singleplayer skirmishes, in-game editor etc. are just a small part of the long feature list! Furthermore it's all available under the LGPL (written in Java). Me = happy puppy :)

Seven Kingdoms GPL version

Not exactly super fresh news but the relatively recently GPLed 1997's strategy game Seven Kingdoms got a SDL based Linux port. Check out a small video tutorial here (as I found it difficult understand what to do initially).

So that's all for today. Stay tuned for more awesome FOSS gaming news!

MegaGlest 3.3.5 Pre-release special!

A new version of MegaGlest will be released sometime today! Once it is head over here to download it! A short changelog can be found here.

MegaGlest is a relatively recent fork of the quite well known FOSS Game Glest, which ceased development some time back. Now that Megaglest has taken up the development, things have advanced quite quickly (in contrast to the other promising Glest fork GAE) and Glest now finally has the long deserved cross platform multiplayer and a proper master-server with a games lobby! Furthermore Megaglest includes all the factions known from the Megapack before, bumping the total number up to 6.

And believe it or not, qudobup and me tried to play a round (extreme n00b alert :D ), which we recored and commented here:

All done with Free software by the way :D (MegaGlest, glc, Audacity, PiTiVi and Mumble)!

Interview with the Megaglest team

For this Megaglest special we are also lucky to had the chance to make a short interview with the two main heads behind this Glest fork.

FreeGamer: For a start, could you please give us a short introduction into your team structure and what your motivation was to fork Glest in order to make Megaglest?

titi: Well teamstructure is... I started and Softcoder joined :) I have been working on glest mods for 2 years now because I like the game and there was so little content available back then. For Megaglest I also do some programming, but Softcoder writes more of the code than me.

Softcoder: But we also have contributions from time to time from others (like the GAE team).

titi: Concerning our motivation, I think we both work on glest because our kids like it :) Right from the start my children were involved in Glest modding. For example my son made nice tileset and helped me with my first mods; especially the Indians (as in native north Americans / the editor ;) ) we made as a coop production!

Softcoder: Yes titi & family are the heart of the community! But my boys also made a number of factions. Elimnator and Tiger are big into mods, and call their mods vbros packs :)

FreeGamer: Interesting to see that FOSS game development can really work as a family hobby! Not really the typical cliche of the lonely bed-room programmer in his teens ;)
But lets move on to the next question: Glest is for sure heavily influenced by Blizzard's Warcraft3, and thus caters to a similar type of gamer. Have you though about bringing some of the popular elements from that game over to Megaglest? Examples would be hero units, and of course the later added game-play modes like DOTA and Tower Defense.

titi: I think we both don't even know Warcraft3 :) I didn't played many RTS games up to now... well I think I played something called Dune2 on the Amiga before ;) Actually I'm more a FPS player.

Softcoder: I'm not a gamer at all. But yeah, the forums are filled with people who ask for features from those games. In short we will therefore likely bring lots of features that people like from there into MG.

titi: Personally however, I don't like all this special hero feature people talk about. Things get too complicated with this, and I think these heroes kill the usual RTS fun. But there are some fun ideas we will follow for sure :) But I see Glest as its own game; I don't want to build a Warcraft clone.
Concerning DOTA, well I guess HON is much better then we can ever be :) But there are mods who do this and when they grow we will support them if it fits to the game itself. Right now we have the current RTS game type in focus, however.

FreeGamer: Ok next question: Megaglest seems to have evolved out of a number of independent factions and tile sets, so the overall game design is lacking a bit. Are there plans to take a more "tighter grip" in order to get the balancing etc. right? Or do you consider Megaglest more of a "playground" and let someone else develop a "pro-mod" for balanced multiplayer?

Softcoder: I think the answer is a challenge of the community and the age groups. Many young people are working on techs, factions, maps etc, but we might need to be more careful to keep "themes" together. So we try to only allow consistent content as part of the shipped product.

titi: Well there are the Tech and Magic factions from the original glest, but the rest was basically made by me. It is something what I called Megapack before. But I learned more while doing this and so they look a bit different :)

FreeGamer: What I actually meant was not the art style but the game balancing and game design. Are there plans to restructure the factions, maybe limit them to 3 or so to be able to get balancing right?

titi: I think the balancing is quite good! Ok, some are better some are not so good, but thats like the players. It is meant like that, good players choose bad factions bad players choose good factions. But what's good or bad depends on the map too!
But I discuss with others in the forums and hear what they say... especially beginners always say this or that faction is too good, but after a while they often come to the conclusion thats its not as they thought :p

Softcoder: I also think the base MG install has that, e.g. a core game-play with good balancing. It is the add-ons etc... that create the "playground".

titi: But for me competitive game-play is also not really the focus. I want to make a game thats fun to play, not competitive! Especially coop gaming against the computer is a big part of the fun playing MG.

FreeGamer: Ok lets move on: With the current release focusing on getting the multiplayer working correctly (and hopefully getting a big enough online player-base), what are your future plans regarding the single-player part? Do you plan on implementing a campaign editor in the already much improved level editor?

titi: Well for me the next focus are graphical improvements. We need better terrain splatting (made by the gfx card), more lights and so on. And we will start to put in lots of new features once we proofed to be stable in multiplayer :)

Softcoder: I think its hard to answer! There are TONS of great ideas in the community, we will talk with our community and see what things are most desired. My focus is more for making my boys happy :) We want MG to be 'mega-fun'!

FreeGamer: Ok so what about editing & modding? Right now the units are rather limited in their special abilities. Do you think stuff like (air) transporters, non attack magic spells, stealth mode etc. (insert other cool units features from Starcraft/Warcraft) could be easily implemented? Or is that already possible with scripting, but not done yet?

titi: I wrote so many wiki entries , made so many forum posts to let people know how to mod glest, I think its quite easy now. The special unit abilities not implemented yet however, but when we think it is fun we will think how hard it is to do and then we do it :)

Softcoder: We plan to add many things like this, but slowly so that we don't lose stability and keep people happy. One example... we added better network play, masterserver AND cross platform play all in this last round of beta! That was TOO MUCH! But things will get done (faster if we have more help) just at its proper pace.

FreeGamer: We already had some remarks on the technical side of things, but lets get back to that again: The Glest engine sure looks a bit dated by today's standards... do you have plans to upgrade the graphics engine to support shaders and such?

Softcoder: Yikes! We agree with you! But I think we have to give hats off to Martino and the rest of the original Glest team that a game written in 2005 still is acceptable today!

titi: We need more speed and many of these features will bring us better speed and better graphics, since the GPU will do alot of the work.

FreeGamer: Ok, but to extent that: with normalmaps and such it often looks more realistic in style. Do you want to go more in that art direction, or stay with a more comic style?

titi: Normal maps are not the main priority, there are other more needed features. And normal maps need new textures, and that is really a lot of work :) So for now we are looking into things that can be done with mostly code which is easier to do.

FreeGamer: So but what weight would you give the development focus right now... more towards improving graphics, or more toward extending game-play?

titi: Both :) But we try to make small steps.

Softcoder: Game development is totally new for me (and Linux programming is fairly new), so priority also depends on how long it takes to learn and do it right! MG is my first graphics code ever, and also and my first Linux open source project.

titi: It is all new for us, no one of us did something like this before. I even learned C++ in the beginning of this year for this project! Same with php, the masterserver is the first thing I ever wrote in php.

FreeGamer: Well I think it turned out pretty well so far never the less :) I think this concludes our short interview. Thank you very much for answering our questions! Ahh, last but not least: Do you have anything you want to tell your players and/or our blog readers?

Softcoder: Yes, our #1 goal for MegaGlest is 'FUN'!

titi: Please come and play MegaGlest ;)

A short introduction into Glest modding

(Mega)Glest has an incredibly easy modding setup. Almost everything in the game can be easily changed with simple XML files, and the 2D map editor is very easy to grasp. Especially with the recent usability improvements in Megaglest (and included Linux editor binaries) it is possible to create a simple but nice map in a matter of minutes!

Edit: I was made aware that those editor improvements come mostly from the GAE project. Very good additions!

(Ok this was not done in minutes :p It's one of the new 8 player maps that come with MegaGlest)

But luckily all these editing features are also very well documented in the Glest wiki.

Last but not least, all single-player and co-op scenarios can be fully scripted right in the XML files with lua, a pretty powerful yet easy scripting language commonly used in computer games. Sadly it is not possible to create full singleplayer campaigns yet, but lets hope that gets added soon too!

Field Commander

Alright folks I am back from being lost somewhere in the sense of time. It's been a freaky week for me but as I always mention I can't sleep without updating this site and Oh I am so happy that I finally decided to purchase a domain for this blog and hopefully I can manage to rebuild links and make this be known around the globe.

To give you a quick summary of this title it's similar to one of those Command and Conquer Strategy gam es. I tried it myself and it was pretty good, As a matter of fact it took a score of 8.4 from IGN dubbed impressive, Although there are stages where you may encounter lags but that appears rare so watch out and report if ever you experience it.

I have nothing else to say so I hope you enjoy this, Before I forget I am sad to tell you but I may not be able to upload on adrive anymore due to ISP issues I may still but that's TBA at the moment if you want me to continue putting files on adrive then donate but I wont oblige you to do so.... Thanks and hope you enjoy this old school gam e.

Plants vs Zombies

There are many people looking for this title and they are asking if I have one but to be honest there never were versions of it for the PlayStation Portable. It was release for Nintendo DS, PC, MAC iPhone but not for P SP.

If you ever landed here looking for PS P version then sorry you came to the wrong place, as I said above they never ported it on our beloved console but do not be sad because I have a file for your computer because I know you like it badly so go at the bottom of this page and d0wnload.

It seem to be a high demand all over the world, maybe this is fun to play for real I wish i have an iPhone or at least an iPod touch so I can play it whenever I go specially when on a queue or something....

This is just a small executable no keys, crack, activation needed just install and start playing... I forgot who to credit I just saw this on forums but I forgot which :D thanks to you (the source) whomever you are (peace).

Socom Fire Team Bravo 3

This has been asked many times to be uploaded here and I'm glad to announce that it is already available for d0wnload.

It only works on GEN-D3 though for those who are on M33 we will need to wait until someone with a good heart provide a patch or a ripkit I haven't tried this yet so I cannot guarantee that it is working but some already confirm that it is indeed working on D3 they even provided screenshots already.

I think this is EU version but I do not know what's the difference between them if it is USA I hope I am the first to have publish this and get traffic lol. I am planning on converting this into cso once a patch for M33 comes out to save some space on the memory stick because it appears to be a huge file.

Forgive my article I just can't think of anything to write but bubble that's what I often turn into if there's no idea coming out of me. Hope you enjoy this...

Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires

I can't think of anything to write but this cai wenji sounds controversial to me I am trying to search what it is or who the heck he is but I cannot find one. Maybe his is the heroin on the geam. This was release last month but no one made it available until today and please note that this is not English but japanese.

So please do not ask for an English version because there never was or this was never made available in the west. It is confusing what the genre is I've been reading several sites and they are giving out different information IGN says it is strategy, wiki says hack and slash GS says Beat Em up so what should I put it?

Well that does not matter now I'll just label it as strategy since that's what I saw first and so be it. Wait so who is cai wenji? Can we look for him on torrents? I doubt it maybe on megaupload? Nope I do not think so because I am putting him on adrive so goodluck to me.

Savage Moon The Hera Campaign

Savage Moon The Hera Campaign PSPI think this is gonna be a great game to play if your into Strategy games like command and conquer, red alert etc. Someone asked if there is a dota game like for psp but there isn't so if you want a not so similar game, I suggest you try
Savage Moon The Hera Campaign on your psp.

If you remember Dune 2000 I think this is more similar to that which was made for the PlayStation 1, I am not sure if there were similar games on PS2 or PS3 and if there was I definitely missed them.

You may want to watch the trailer how the game looks and there you will have an idea how it is played and if you want to try it or not. Here is a link for screenshots from Gamespot and here's a decent review from IGN.

There isn't any ratings or score as this was just released last December 24, 2009.

Diner Dash Sizzle and Serve

This is similar to those of restaurant strategy flash on facebook played my millions.

You will be playing like a Fast Food or as the title speaks A restaurant crew who caters food to the customers eating on the restaurant.

Some tasks you need to accomplish are order taking, serve the food they've ordered, taking the check as a payment for the food the customers have eaten.

Here are some cheats to easily finish it, But it's difficult to find one, maybe there's not really any PlayStation Portable.

I've been crazy looking online for cheats and the sites are linking and forwarding me on to different websites so I gave up.

If you found one then do not forget to share it with everyone by leaving a comment below.

Non RTS strategy games

An update so quickly? Behold the Free Gamer world is coming to an end. :p

So, we mentioned some promising RTS games in the last update. OK, I forgot to mention Spring1944, but I am also a bit reluctant to mention Spring and its mods since it is such a pain in the backside to get it running correctly. :(

Back on topic... there a quite a few really great non RTS FOSS strategy games. I guess I don't really need to mention the classics to the typical reader of this blog, but Wesnoth, FreeCiv, FreeCol and UFO:AI are all very playable and good looking games! However there are others that get less attention and also some that show great promise!

Advanced strategic command

Advanced strategic command is one of those that gets relatively little news coverage, even though it is a really playable game. Granted, its graphics are pretty much the same as its big inspiration, the classic Battle Isle series, but that doesn't necessarily make them bad, right?

A new version was just released a few days ago, which finally also includes a tutorial for those new to this type of game.

Also interesting is the (German) Project: Battle Planets, which could be described as a MMOTBS based on ASC. It is not quite what you would expect from this description as most of the MMO part is done manually by human game moderators, which exchange ASC games states between players (sorry, it is a bit hard to explain exactly ;) ).

A similar game to ASC is Crimson Fields by the way, which has found its way to many mobile platforms.

Widelands

Another often neglected game is Widelands, which is obviously based on the classic game the Settlers (no not the Settlers of Catan, check Pioneers for that).

The graphics could still be improved a bit, but it is shaping up to be a very faithful and fun re-implementation of that great classic game.

Unknown Horizons

While we are at FOSS re-implementations of great games... Unknown Horizons is continuing to become a Anno1602 clone of epic proportions. ;)

It is not quite at the point where it could be described as a fully playable game yet, but you can expect it to become one relatively soon, I guess! (Another not quite playable but really promising game worth surely mentioning is FreeOrion by the way).

8Kingdoms

Last but not least, there is 8Kingdoms, which really is one of those games people don't even try after having a short glance at the screenshots. Yes, it's programmers art, albeit one that at least tried to hide it by having a plastic-like style for the figures. ;)

But if you actually try it, you will realize that even though it is a bit rough around the edges (why can't I set a custom wide-screen resolution :( ), the game play and the engine is already quite advanced.

What this game clearly needs is an artist taking over the graphical matters, and then this could quite quickly become one of those true FOSS strategy game gems!

Military History Commander Eutrope at War

Military History Commander Eutrope at War pspMilitary History Commander Eutrope at War a strategy game which depicts World War II.

It's similar to those Red Alert games, Manage army divisions, fleets, airforce and conquer or protect the whole continent.

I had difficulty looking for details about this game, So I watched trailers on youtube and read the comments.

The most talk about is the price of the game, majority says it was expensive during the release.

Before you download this for free make sure you watch the trailer and read some reviews comments etc. on any site.

I did that and it was mixed up. Now I don't know if I should be putting this here as no one might download it.

That's gonna be a waste of time for my efforts. Can I ask for a favor? If you ever download this game leave a comment how the game went with your experience?

Cheers and happy playing...

Mytran Wars

Kondor Corp. sent a reconnaissance expedition to Phytar 4 months ago. The primary objective of the mission was to assess the planet's available resources.

The operation was a great success and uncovered the existence of enormous stocks of valuable raw materials. Considering the quantities and the high quality of these raw materials, Kondor Corp. can expect this to be a highly efficient and profitable mining operation.

But our scouts also reported sighting a number of deserted settlements belonging to an as yet unknown race. The architecture and infrastructure in the settlements suggest that this race attained a high level of technology before they left the planet for unknown reasons. Apart from the usual flora and fauna, our scouts were unable to find any living creatures that might have once used the settlements.

The scouts also reported a number of anomalies on the surface of the planet - concentrations of energy that interact with their environment. These energy channels reacted to our presence and avoided our scout's attempts to approach them.

The lower image was taken by one of our cameras. It shows one of the anomalies somehow connected to rocks before it fled from our scouts. We have to find out how to utilize this mobile source of energy.

Well well well so this is it the one similar to farmville on Facebook...

I do not play farmville on facebook but again there are many people addicted to it.

I am expecting that if they figured out there's similar game on PSP they might try and play it.

Your main goal is to build a farm, make friends with Towns citizens and earn from your farm maintain of course.

I never played "The Sims" and I think this is a port of it for the PlayStation.

Your role is to build an amusement park to earn money, just like real amusement par ks you can add food booths and refreshments to earn more.

The main goal is to make the value high and increase your revenue for it to be sold and a new lot can be bought from a new plot to start a new carnival.

Playing this develops your skills of how business works, managing and using some strategies to grow the profit and the business itself.

I might try this myself but not at the moment...

Star Trek: Tactical Assault

This is not the best that you can try with it's title. I know this became popular but I hardly recommend this to all because there is nothing that can be of interest when you play it. Almost everything has glitches like controls, graphics, execution, characters everything suckz so If I were you I wont put this on my console because it's just a waste of space on your memory stick.

Even if you read on through review sites like IGN first they talked about how it went when played then at the end you will sense negative commentary so as I said this is not worth to be saved on our mems.

Maybe cheats is more important than having this put on our PlayStation Portables? lols Because without using cheats it's useless so if I were you I wont heed this lines of text because it's non sense so good luck :)

Worms Open Warfare 2

There is nothing to bluff about this as I already have the necessary niche embedded here and besides this is not a trend anymore, Just as a collection and to have a content on this site.

But I guess it's still worth trying some keys like Torrents , cwcheat and many others that may get us on top. But I guess it's not good enough as my title talks about different stuffs so I am not expecting this to rank whatsoever.

I am out of things to say this time but I need to add more well just some thoughts about this as I played it myself, I do not recommend it due to poor controls mapped on the buttons of the console which is difficult to get along with and not easy to manage not sure what kind of strategy or tactic you need to do in order to easily control it while playing.

I think that's enough so good luck...

My Spanish Coach

This is for Sony PlayStation Portable, There is a DS version of this and it is quite popular and being searched on the internet. I think the NDS is better compared to this because it is touch screen just for this specific game only others I wouldnt recommend due to bad graphics. You can play NDS roms on our PS Portable consoles using emulator but amongst what I tried there isn't any good but they're slow with few bugs and glitches that needs to get fix.

What I liked about this are the levels you can choose from but they are lock unless you finish Level 1 onwards or you can use some cheats to easily finish this or do you think a cheat is necessary? Maybe better if we use an English - Spanish dictionary which we can use to based our answers from.

I just read some details about this on wiki and it seems there are different languages that the developer release for French / Dutch and other I can't remember.
